Fabric protection successfully performed on a Bombardier Global 5000 private jet.

Apart from two stains that we were unable to remove before the protection process, the carpet did liven up as a result of the complete fiber protection and spills can now be removed without staining. The carpet was successfully re-installed into the Bombardier Global 5000 and the owners were very happy with the result.

Project details

The challenge
A private jet company wanted the current carpets of their Bombardier Global 5000 to be protected with FiberProtector protection. Since the carpets have been used for some time, the usual procedure is to do an extraction of the carpet before applying the protection, however, the carpet was mainly made up of silk and would not be able to be extracted due to the use of water.

The Solution
After the carpets were removed from the private jet, vacuuming and protection of the fabrics could start.

• Vacuum cleaning - since the carpet was mainly made up of silk, extraction of the carpet was out of the question. A thorough vacuuming of the carpet was done instead to prevent any damage or change in the carpet texture and color. Although vacuuming does not replace an extraction, it is still able to liven up the carpet and remove grain and gravel found at the base of the fibers when done thoroughly.

• Protection - the protection of the carpet was performed using a Solvent Based product instead of a Water Based. This was again because of the type of fabric we were dealing with (silk).

The Result
Apart from two stains that we were unable to remove before the protection process, the carpet did liven up as a result of the complete fiber protection and spills can now be removed without staining. Aesop

Fabric protection successfully performed for Aesop at ION and Aesop at Raffles City.

Surface Protector Asia has successfully applied Fiber Protection on sisal carpets at two Aesop outlets. This is helping Aesop reduce their deep cleaning costs, and maintaining their high end reputation in line with the look and feel of their shops.

Project details

The Challenge
Aesop have opened two outlets in Singapore, both outlets with sisal carpets. Sisal carpets are quite troublesome when it comes to protection of the material and cleaning. The idea was to protect the carpets before they get stained.

The Solution
After our representative met up with Snohetta (the Interior Design company for Aesop projects in Singapore), a deal was made for Surface Protector Asia to protect Aesop's sisal carpets. At these two jobs, masking tape was used to protect the walls and furniture, and the sisal carpets were vacuumed prior to the application of SPA Fiber ProTector application. A Solvent Based product was used and no extraction was needed, as the carpets were new and clean.

The Sisal carpets do not need to be reapplied with the fiber protection for another 2 to 3 years depending on the traffic.

The Result
Once the fiber protection on the sisal carpets had cured, water tests were performed to ensure that the fabric was protected properly. A second water test was performed five months after the application. Both tests came out with a positive result.

Resort World Sentosa

Resorts World Sentosa is made up of several hotels with the need of quality protection of fabrics, satisfied by SPA. With SPA's quality fiber protection, Resorts World Sentosa will reduce their maintenance costs and time cleaning their fabrics.

The Challenge
With several prominent hotels in Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), a big challenge is to keep carpets, upholstery, and other farbrics clean. Since the majority of the fabrics are not brand new, an additional challenge is that of removing existing stains from these fabrics before being able to protect the fibers.

The Solution
In order to discuss the challenges of cleaning and keeping the fabrics clean in the hotels at Resorts World Sentosa, Our representative met up with the Assistant Executive Housekeeper of Equarius Hotel. After this meeting, a trial was arranged at Equarius Hotel, for extraction/deep cleaning and application of fiber protection of a carpet and upholstery in one of their rooms. Hotel Michael also requested extraction/deep cleaning and protection for carpeted areas, rooms and corridors. Both Hotel Michael and Equarius Hotel had carpet made up of mixed wool.

The mixed wool carpet and the upholstery do not need to be reapplied with fiber protection for another 1 to 2 years depending on the high traffic.

The Result
After having extracted the carpet and upholstery, most stains were completely removed from the carpet. Any remaining stains had faded greatly and hardly visble. The following day, a water test was performed by the staff, confirming that the protection was working. Since our first application (March 2016), we have expanded the relationship to several of the hotels at RWS.
